The method
The classrooms are filled with a variety of Montessori creative materials, nature and colorful, English phonetic materials that are presented with a learning objective. They are encouraged to move, play and explore. This carefully prepared environment stimulates and promotes the child’s development towards independence, concentration, sequential thinking and controlled physical movement.
We encourage sensory development, introduce mathematical and language concepts, and provide the appropriate environment to develop the practical skills they need in everyday life.
To be sure that your child has all the benefits of a hands-on learning experience, you need to keep your child in the classroom for three years.
The first year is an exploration and adaptation during which you will receive a large number of individual presentations and also learn how concentration, order, self-discipline and social interaction work. During your child’s second year of education, he or she is encouraged to explore his or her environment more independently. Your child has more self-confidence than the first year and can usually work for longer periods of time. During the third year, all experiences are synthesized. Your child solidifies and really understands all the knowledge he or she has been absorbing over the past two years. Your child becomes a role model for other children.
